Hope Farm is located in the Huánuco region of Peru, at an altitude of 1,600 meters, making it an ideal coffee-growing area. The farm specializes in cultivating the Geisha coffee variety, renowned for its unique flavor and high quality. The farm uses the Black Honey processing method, a technique that preserves the natural flavors of the coffee beans while enhancing their complex taste profile.
Hope Farm produces approximately 8,000 kilograms of coffee beans each year and strictly controls defects to maintain a G1 < 5 rating, ensuring exceptional quality for each batch of coffee. To meet Vela Ethan's quality standards, every batch of coffee beans is handpicked to remove any defective beans.
The soil in the region is volcanic and rich in minerals, making it highly suitable for coffee plant growth. The average annual rainfall ranges from 1,500 to 2,000 millimeters, providing sufficient moisture for healthy coffee tree development.
The coffee trees at Hope Farm grow under the shade of Inca trees, banana trees, and plantain trees. This cultivation method not only protects the coffee plants from direct sunlight but also promotes ecological diversity and soil health.
